From Shrewsbury take the A488 Bishop’s Castle road through Hanley, Pontesbury and Minsterley. After Minsterley go up the Hope Valley and on through Gravels. Pass a right turn towards White Grit then after 6 km, as the road descends from the hill, turn left along an easy-to-miss narrow lane (signposted More 1 Linley 1½) at a crossroads, 1.5 km before Lydham. This is the second left turn after a former quarry area (the first turn is not signposted). Follow the lane to another crossroads, and turn left, signposted Linley, and follow for 1.5 km until reaching the Linley Hall entrance on the left, ignoring all other turns. If you miss the turn off the A488, continue to Lydham. Turn left at the junction with the A489 and follow instructions below from this point.

From Bishops Castle take the A488 northwards to Lydham. At the junction of the A488 with the A489 (signposted Craven Arms) turn right and follow the A489 eastwards. After 1 km turn left along a minor road (heading north) signposted More ¾, Norbury 2, Wentnor 3½, Pulverbatch 10. After about 0.5 km take the first turn left, signposted More. At the next junction, turn right, and shortly right again with the church on your left. After about one mile, turn right at the T junction. The Hall is visible on the left and the entrance is after 100 yards on the left – ignore the right turn marked ‘private drive’. Follow drive towards the Hall.

Beginners are welcome at all forays.

Please read the Foray Risk Assessment before attending. It is advisable to confirm with the leader that the foray is taking place, as on extremely rare occasions forays have had to be changed at short notice. Please email the Secretary for more details.
