LOAMHOLE DINGLE FORAY
incl. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

WHEN

Saturday 7th September at 10:30.

WHERE

Meet on the carpark of the Coalbrookdale & Ironbridge Community Centre in Ironbridge where the day will begin with a foray around nearby Loamhole Dingle. Lunch will be provided at about 12:30. The AGM will then commence around 13:00 at the Coalbrookdale & Ironbridge Community Centre in Ironbridge.

The most exciting thing about the AGM is that it provides the opportunity to take part in the planning of the 2025 foray programme so please come along with suggestions for places to foray. Even more exciting is the election of the SFG officers.

The Community Centre is at 2 Wellington Road Coalbrookdale but the car park entrance is at the rear off Darby Road.

Leave the M54 at junction 4 and take the A464 signposted Telford Town Centre. Go straight on the at first roundabout and at the second, turn left onto the A442. Continue ahead (right lane) onto A4169 towards Much Wenlock (do not filter left on A442). Continue straight ahead remaining on A4169. At the third roundabout (Jiggers Roundabout) turn left along Jiggers Bank. After 1km pass ‘Ironbridge Gorge’ sign and go under low bridge. Take first right along Darby Road. The car park entrance is a few years along on the left.

From Much Wenlock take the A4169 north. A few metres after crossing the River Severn turn right along Buildwas Road and at the first roundabout turn left up Dale Road (after about 2km, in Ironbridge village). Dale Road shortly becomes Wellington Road and after about 1 km the Community Centre and the car park off Darby Road are on the left, just after passing the entrance to the Enginuity Museum and just before a low bridge ahead.

Do not rely on the postcode to guide you to the exact meeting point for a foray. Postcodes in rural areas often cover a large area. The OS grid reference is more precise and unchanging. What3Words is also more precise, and the detailed instructions should also help to pinpoint the location.

Beginners are welcome at all forays.

2024 Foray Report

Please read the Foray Risk Assessment before attending. It is advisable to confirm with the leader that the foray is taking place, as on extremely rare occasions forays have had to be changed at short notice. Please email the Secretary for more details.
